About Alpha Auto Concepts
Do the work properly.
Charge honestly.
Let it speak.
Holmfirth, West Yorkshire · Est. 1999
We started with a very specific goal: do the work properly, charge honestly, and let the results speak.
That was over 25 years ago. The workshop has grown, the team has expanded and the reputation has travelled a long way from Holmfirth, but the goal hasn’t changed.
Alpha Auto Concepts is based at Unit 3 Sude Hill Mill in New Mill, Holmfirth. We’re a team of skilled trimmers and technicians working across the full range of vehicle interior services, from single seat repairs to complete ground-up restoration of classic car interiors and everything in between.
We take on cars, vans, motorcycles, limousines and anything else with an interior that matters to its owner.

The people behind the work
You can’t shortcut the development of a skilled trimmer.
Our team has been working in vehicle trimming for the full span of those 25 years. That depth of collective experience is what drives the standard of our output.
The judgement required to work with complex materials on complex shapes, to solve the problems that arise in every unusual project and to know when something isn’t quite right and needs to be done again, all of that comes from time and practice and a genuine investment in the craft.
We’re a relatively small team and we intend to stay that way. A large operation necessarily involves a degree of variability in standards across the workforce. We prefer to keep close control over every project that comes through the workshop, which means being honest about capacity and taking on work at a pace that lets us do it well.
Television, magazines and the Geneva Motor Show
Our work has reached some prominent platforms.
We’ve trimmed vehicles for Supercar Megabuild series one and two on the Discovery Channel, a programme that follows the transformation of extraordinary cars through a roster of specialist craftspeople.
We’ve appeared on Goblin Works Garage, Ali A’s Superchargers and Channel 4’s “I’m Not Driving That.” Being chosen for television productions of this kind is a reflection of both our technical standard and our ability to work to a brief under pressure.
Our work has appeared across the automotive press, including as feature and cover cars in national car magazines. These placements come not through advertising relationships but through vehicles whose interiors have caught the attention of editorial teams and photographers who look at a lot of cars.
Geneva Motor Show · 2018 & 2019
Pre-production vehicles for a British boutique manufacturer
In 2018 and 2019 we upholstered the interiors of two pre-production vehicles unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, high-profile project cars presented to the global automotive press. The standard required was absolute. The results earned us an ongoing relationship with that manufacturer.
What the process looks like
Conversation & consultation
Every job starts with a conversation. You bring the vehicle to us (or we arrange collection in some cases), we assess the existing interior and discuss exactly what you’re looking for. We’ll show you material samples, talk through colour combinations and give you an honest view of what will work and what won’t. Once you’re happy with the plan, we get started.
Strip and prepare
Seats come out, panels come off, and we work methodically through each component. Nothing is rushed and nothing is skipped. Each part of the interior is assessed before any new material goes near it.
Cut, stitch and trim
Patterns are cut, materials are prepared and each piece is trimmed, stitched and fitted with care. We use industrial-grade machinery for cutting and stitching, but a huge amount of the work is still done by hand. That’s where the experience shows.
Fit and inspect
Fitting is where attention to detail becomes critical. A retrim lives or dies on the tension of the leather across a seat cushion, the precision of a stitch line, the way a panel fits flush against a door without gaps or creases. This team has been doing this long enough to know what good looks like and won’t accept anything less.
Our workshop
Unit 3, Sude Hill Mill, New Mill, Holmfirth
Our workshop sits within a converted mill building that's been home to craftspeople in various trades for generations. There's something appropriate about that. The building has the quiet seriousness of a working space rather than the corporate anonymity of an industrial unit — and our customers who visit tend to comment on it.
Customers travel to us from considerably further afield when they've decided they want the job done right.
our trade
Vehicle interior trimming is a craft that deserves more recognition than it typically gets
The work is technically demanding, physically skilled and entirely visible every time someone opens a car door.
"A bad paint job might be covered with a respray. A bad interior trim is there, in front of you, every time you drive."
That belief has driven 25 years of work. It'll drive the next 25 as well.
